Common questions
What meals can my program serve?
At-Risk Afterschool programs can serve up to one meal and one snack per child each day, most often a snack and supper. Meals can also be served on weekends and school breaks during the school year. Child care centers can serve breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks based on their hours.
Do families need to fill out applications?
Not for At-Risk Afterschool programs. Eligibility is based on your site's location, so every child 18 and under can eat. Child care centers collect enrollment and income information that determines each child's reimbursement category.
Who prepares the meals?
Meals come from our approved food service vendor, so your site doesn't need to cook or plan menus. Every meal and snack meets the USDA CACFP meal pattern.

How long does it take to get started?
